The First Underwater Luxury Hotel
Wednesday, January 17th, 2007Can you imagine spending the night 20 meters under the sea? Can you imagine waking up not to the early morning sun but seeing schools of fish swimming by, or a shark trying to bite his way through your window?
You may soon be able to do this, sleep in an underwater luxury hotel 20 meters below the surface of the Persian Gulf. The Hydropolis Hotel is being launched in Dubai in the United Arab Emirates. There are main three areas of this hotel: the land station where guests will arrive, the connecting tunnel, which will transport people by train to the main area of the hotel, and the hotel area with 220 suites, a high tech cinema, restaurants, an entertainment park and a lot of attractions inspired by the sea.

The Hydropolis Hotel, as this artist’s rendering illustrates, will include two domes that break the water’s surface, with the ballroom dome featuring a retractable roof. Rendering: Hydropolis Holding
